Hi, I am planing to implement the transceiver for Zigbee protocol over FPGA. For this reason, I have studied many papers related to zigbee and have understood the main idea behind the zigbee protocol. Currently, I can say that I could implement the physical layer of baseband (bit-symbol, symbol-chip(DSSS), O-QPSK, half-sine pulse shaping) of transmitter over the FPGA. However, I could not understand the idea behind receiver of Zigbee. I am striving to understand the physical layer of receiver. Can any one explain the receiver of Zigbee or give me some useful material that I can read to understand the receiver? It is important to note that I am only interested in the physical layer of Zigbee protocol.

Dear Muhamad,
The receiver function is the inverse that of the transmitter since it has the function to restore the data from the received signal.
So, the base band processing in zigbee has to main functions as you explained above, the spreading and the modulation in the transmitter. In the receiver one has to demodulate the signal and then despread it.
So, your receiver is built of two main building blocks: the OPSK demodulation and the despreading.
You can find these functions explained in any standard book of digital communication.
I would like to advice you to return to the text book:
Digital communication system by Glover and Grant. All these processes are explained in full detail in this book.
