I have a virtual machine. My host Pc specs are not that good thats why i went for virtual servers. so basically my host pc has 8gb of ram with nvidia quadro k2200 4Gb DDR5 GPU ,processor intel core i7. but it can not handle much elements since the meshed elements are in the range of 10Million to 36Million elements from coarse to fine respectively. The server is 32gb intel xeon processor. would it get the job done? or should i buy and make a host xeon workstation of the same specs? also by the elements which are the recommendations if i am to buy a workstation?
Hi, in fact Fluent is relatively greedy for the memory requirements on Linux (workstations or HPC servers). From my experience it needs about 3 Gb RAM/million cells for a single phase flow simulation and the needs increase for more complex flows involving multiphase or CHT for example...
