Hi all. As we know Oxacillin antibiotic drug inhibits peptidoglycan synthesis in both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. Does anyone know which particular protein does Oxacillin binds to in order to inhibit the peptidoglycan synthesis in gram-positive bacteria, in particular of Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus strain? I am trying to do molecular docking of one of my compounds, as I speculate that the mechanisms of action of my compound inhibit the peptidoglycan synthesis process. Thanks in advance.
