Due to the pandemic, I can't go back to my university to conduct experiments. I have my stool samples and extraction kit with me in a smaller laboratory however they don't have the equipment I need to do AGE or spectro. Is there any other way to check DNA quality?

Also, these stool samples have been lying idle for a few months now. To those doing studies in human gut microbiome, I know the quality goes down the longer these samples are stored, how long can they stay in storage without doing DNA or metabolite extraction? They are currently stored in 4°C, I didn't add anything for preservation like RNAlater, and they haven't been thawed since storage.
