Selection of Research Methodology is primarily dependent upon research objective, but once there is option of choice which is your preferred method "Qualitative" or "Quantitative" and Why?
Qualitative is creed & whatever the line of action we may have with us the resulting action of our contributory effect & while considering this we have to offer our priority of quality for our resulting action .
It's related of your subject. but if I have the choice I prefer Qualitative because it allowed to me for give some interpretations and some explanations

I choose quantitative, because it helps to paint better scenerios of events, it gives life to qualitative issues, it aids experimental processes. One can almost accurately predict future events
This is not a question of methodical choice, but of the level of inquiry. In the physics of social systems we can, for example, measure the quantity of energy consumption and its effect on the economic living standard, i.e. the wealth of a nation is determined by its access to energy. However, human value preferences decide about the qualitative use of this energy resources (food, fuel or just fun). The external validation of data in field work is by qualitative prediction, while the internal validation by observable quantities
cannot predict life events. Concerning the prediction of human action, we have to study value preferences on both levels, the quantitative effect and the qualitative cause. On both legs, we must walk and can progress.
Both methods are equally important because they allow you to approach your research in a different way and, in many cases, achieve different results. Personally, I use more qualitative methods because I am interested in the analysis of discourses and the interpretation of social actions. However, in some cases, I use mixed methods to cross information and reach conclusions and solid theories.
Each research starts from the design of a conceptual and methodological model, in which it is established: the objectives, the hypotheses have been improved, and the way of approaching the researched reality, which is the methodology, The methodology is based on the objectives, and this results in the use of the quantitative or qualitative method. In different investigations I combined both methods, or I use them independently. The quantitative allows to identify recurrences, they are deep data of measurements of the reality. The qualitative allows to deepen and have explanatory data. You have to be very rigorous and serious with each method, and fundamentally have a clear understanding of the information.
