Observations of facultative anaerobes growth on agar plate vs broth.

My bacteria exhibits aerobic and anaerobic growth but displays optimal growth in anaerobic conditions on an agar plate while showing the best overall growth in aerobic conditions. How is this possible, and second, is this observation correct for facultative anaerobes?
