Dear colleagues,

We are starting NBRIP assays in the lab to evaluate the capacity of rhizobacterial strains of our interest to solubilize calcium phosphate. To our surprise, the yellow/destained halo that we could observe with some of the strains at day 4 has disappeared at day 10. Does this happen regularly? Does it reflect the death of bacteria/the fact that they stop to acidify the medium and the replenishment of the agar with bromophenol blue by passive diffusion?

Thanks for sharing your thoughts or experience.
