I try a short answer. All the points you mentioned ask for the feeling of the participants "we are better and more exceptional than the others". So my answer is yes, they have common principles.

It is true that the  sole goal of participants and their fans in such international sports events is to win and give an international standing to the country they represent. However with that motto, the spirit of global friendship, oneness in diversity and the spirit of strength of the human soul has to be preached and promoted by couches, international venue organizers and politicians alike. If such events change in to a a pure showcase of sever nationalism and outright disrespect for others, then the very program loses its mission and purpose and no healthy society will voluntarily participate in such vitriolic events.

To win is the fruit of a dedicated effort of a sportsmanship and to accept losing is a virtue, both winners and loser should value each other but above all to create that event for different participants to get together is a wonderful thing - that is what has to be seen and be valued.  

Thus, sports/education/science is about open and fair competition/collaboration, and should have nothing to do with different forms of discrimination, like....

In my opinion, “Nazism, anti-Semitism, (stupid) nationalism, and chauvinism” should never exist. So, in my opinion, the problem is not the sport or the competition in football international matches.

Competition in sport under the same conditions of performance of exercises bring out the best. And what happens with the phenomenon of misanthropy. In this case, there are different conditions for the abuse of one person by another. One person (community) stronger than the other. And this condition generates permissiveness. But permissiveness akin to greed, hypocrisy, one-sided perception of the world. And in sports should not emerge principles permissiveness. It should be a level playing field really brings out the best.

Sport is a show and the show is business. Where there is a business, there are infiltrations fringes of society and politics that are not animated by good intentions. The story reveals the racism against the great American athlete Jesse Owens at the Berlin Olympics, the killing of Israeli athletes at the Olympic Games in Munchen, the boycott of the Moscow Olympics following the invasion of Afghanistan by Russia and finally the recent scandal involving the leaders of the FIFA world Cup and that reflects a real war of money and power. Is the sport still only a sport?

These regimes are more often than not homophobic anti-foreigneer, anti-semitic (look at Hungary right now) and they consider the FIne Arts only as propaganda for the totalitarian state. Russia is becoming more and more militaristic, nationalistic, auhoritarian, corrupt, homophobic and racistic and keen on mlitary violence. A dangerouus trend indeed.

Hence Ljubomir, are the 'isms' which I mentioned related to each other? Yes they are, historically as well ideologically, and we are not all rid of these Dark Powers of Humanity. On the contrary, each day offers us more examples of racism on soccerfields as expressed by Hooligans shouting obscene stuff to black soccerplayers in many European stadions, also in my country, Belgium. The same is true in Russia where homo's and lesbians are put into prison and outlawed. This was by the way the case in England as well between the two World Wars. Homophily was forbidden in England at that time. The sentence for homophobia at that time in England was emprisonment and castration. The English invented concentration camps as well in the Boer War in South Africa, and isntalled a reign of anti black racism and racial seggregation. By the way Enbgland had and still has a dangerously socially seggregated society, leading to films like The Wall and Brazil, which were a cries for freedom and the downfall of social seggregation in the UK.

I'll have to stop here Ljubomir, because this topic is so enormous and so loaded as well, that I cannot but be incommplete. I do believe however, that many of the 'isms' I mentioned are strongly related and areemanations of human traits, which regularly change face, but keep on coming and going like the hurricanes in the Carribean and the US sowing death and destruction. The further you go back in European and US history, the more you can find evidence for 'ism' interrelations, even in the so-called parlementary democracies.

It is sad to see this all happen over and over again. As George Orwell stated. "Those who don't learn from history are condemned to repeat it". We see that happenening over and over gain, unfortunately. I can only but conclude that humanity as a whole does not learn from history at all.

Sorry Ljubomir, but I am pessimistic about our future just because of my previous concllusion and the 'isms' hitting us again and again with the regularity of a ticking clock, leading even as we speak to the elimination of thousands of innocent people in Africa, Europe, South America, India, The Phillipines, Indonesia, and Arabic countries like Syria, Iraq, Saoudi Arabia, Jemen, Lebanon, And lets not forget the madness and summum of National Communism,... It is difficult to imagine international sport without chauvinism.  All team sports are essentially tribal in nature and national teams a rallying point for nationalism and chauvinism.  

The problem with identifying with a sports team as a symbol of nationhood is that it brings out the worst elements of human behaviour every bit as much as any positive traits.  The object of the exercise is to 'defeat' all rivals in what is a symbolic gesture of supremacy.   

George Orwell, a fierce critic of extreme nationalism once said:

"Serious sport has nothing to do with fair play. It is bound up with hatred, jealousy, boastfulness, disregard of all rules and sadistic pleasure in witnessing violence. In other words, it is war minus the shooting."

I believe all sports have as responsibility to encourage physical activity and integration between people.

So, they must never be taken to the extreme competition, generating hate and segregation.

In actual truth, it was generated by  malice, hateful to other folks, to those, who don't share nationalistic views. A child who is born, can not influence their origin. However, evil and its apologists sufficient evidence to prosecute the birth of babies sprouting life. Let more people in the world are opposed such an obvious injustice.

Absolutely dear Ljubomir.Yes this initiative by the Olympic movement was welcomed by the Olympic institutions in different countries, but also by sports associations which sports the cement of humanity.
