I would say that the floculate might be something denatured in your RIPA buffer if old and subject to multiple freeze thaws
Thus, in the first instance, make more RIPA buffer and repeat

My guess is that it is crystals of deoxycholate or SDS, if at least one of those was in your RIPA buffer. If there was any potassium around, SDS would precipitate as the potassium salt.
