much ubiquitin is found around the z-disc of muscle cells. Could it be that myofibrillar proteins are brought to z-disk and are broken down there?

In this case could the z-disc be a place for proteins to be broken down, rather than it being done around myosin fibers deeper in the sacromere that are hard to reach?
