I have flash-frozen brains and am looking to extract RNA for RNA-seq, and protein for western blotting. I've seen other questions related to this (https://www.researchgate.net/post/How-can-I-extract-RNA-and-protein-at-the-same-time-from-frozen-tissue-brain, https://www.researchgate.net/post/How_to_isolate_simultaneous_DNA_RNA_Protein_from_one_sample), but before I start piloting different protocols, I was hoping to look at the most recent, up-to-date, reliable, optimized protocols for this purpose. The protocols that I've gathered either use TRIzol, or come from kits made by Zymo and Qiagen. They are listed below:

Trizol 1- https://www.creative-diagnostics.com/total-protein-extraction-by-trizol.htm

Trizol 2 - https://www.future-science.com/doi/10.2144/btn-2020-0083

Trizol 3 - http://tools.thermofisher.com/content/sfs/manuals/trizol_reagent.pdf

Zymo - https://files.zymoresearch.com/protocols/_r1057t_r1057_r1058_quick-rna_miniprep_plus_kit.pdf (for RNA) + https://files.zymoresearch.com/protocols/_d7003t_d7003_quick-dna-rna_miniprep_plus_kit.pdf (page 12 for protein purification)

Qiagen AllPrep - https://www.qiagen.com/us/resources/resourcedetail?id=3548562d-0edb-43b8-832f-102ee790cba7&lang=en

Any experience or input is highly appreciated. Thank you.
