As we know the aggressiveness of corona virus appear in high mortality in short period of time, so what about high cure rate in relative to high death in hospitals?
Despite the high recovery rates in hospitals, there are also large numbers of deaths. Despite the capabilities of the hospitals, the home care I see is better.
Mortality rate of COVID-19 in hospitalized patients versus home care.
Mortality rate of COVID-19 patients has varied widely globally from less than 1% in Singapore to >18% in France.
Simply because COVID-19 patients needing to be admitted to the hospital (10-20%) are often more sick or critical, they have higher mortality, worse being in those needing ICU care (>50%). COVID-19 patients staying at home are either asymptomatic or have mild symptoms, and can be admitted to the hospital if they need so, mortality of home-isolated patients s very low(
The most appropriate site of care is determined by the severity of the COVID-19.
Those patients who do not require oxygen can be treated at home. Their mortality will be low.
Patients who require organ support e.g. oxygen should be managed in hospital. Their mortality will be higher because the need for organ support indicates greater body tissue injury.
Hospital admission criteria are important here. Inappropriate and a panic rush to the hospital is to be prevented by mass awareness of the hospital admission protocol as well as easy and understandable home management for the COVID patients. Of course, happy hypoxia - is a barrier there.
Similar to previous answers, the severity of the illness would determine the place of care, so those with mild symptoms would not need to be hospitalized. As such, according to Rieg and colleagues, around 10-15% of COVID-19 patients needs hospitalization and mortality rates for hospitalized patients will be higher (20-40%) https://journals.plos.org/plosone/article?id=10.1371/journal.pone.0242127. However a study by Asch and colleagues found that hospitals did better when the prevalence of COVID-19 in their surrounding communities was lower.

this is depend on severity of illness, the more severe the illness the more admission to hospital& the more mortality rate to those patients we compared to those at home
