I want to simulate a rough model for metal forming. The output should be the plate going down when displacement is applied. Please find the picture attached.
I need to know what settings I need to use in
1.contacts
2. Boundary conditions
3. If I have to use static structural model or transient structural model
1- Contact : Solid to Solid
2- Boundary Condition : I think you should apply a velocity to your Wedge in your direction. Clamps that you use ,in the picture top of the body and in sides, make the problem complicated. I think you should try to set your boundary condition without them on your Bar, and ...

Generally It is a large displacement dynamic problem. Here you have to one stationary rigid body and another one should be moving rigid body. Here the boundary conditiona should be simple supported rigid body boundary conditions (where in one point you should fixed 3 dof, at another point 2dof and in 3rd point 1dof fixed.
Please use Esi Pamstamp or lsdyna these are sheet metal forming specific software. Very easy to model sheet metal forming.
