I have two mercury concentrations:
1. Control= 0.20g/L
2.Contaminated = 0.25g/L
Ps: The contaminated was diluated 1/2 ( 5ml of buffer and 5ml of solution ) and the control contains 10 mL of buffer
How should I calculate the difference?
(T-C)*2 or (T*2)-C?

The contaminated must be higher than control, and since control is 0.2 g/l, you would need to apply second equation if you wanted contaminated concentration, and equation 1 if you wanted their difference. Typically, if you mixed the control concentration, you might call it a standard or reference concentration. A bit unusual to be mixing them, but maybe you did not have enough sample, or the control included preservatives, buffers. As mixed, the concentration of added buffers in the control would be less in the contaminated. This may not make any analytical difference, but consulting with an analytical chemist on these methods would be a good check, especially with expensive Hg tests and research level work.
Mercury analyser digital type is simple to use as well as for computation.

What I meant by "Control " is a contaminated merucry sample , but with lower concentration, compararing with the treat sample.
