Dear all,
I am recently struggling with enzymatic esterification of free fatty acids from different kind of vegetable oil with molar excess of glycerol.
The main goal of 'my reaction' is to obtain a high yield of monoacylglycerols (above 70%) and I am using AMANO lipase GS250. For some oils, like rapeseed, the reaction goes pretty well but when comes to sunflower oil I always experienced worse results.
Do you think the different fatty acid profiles of these two oils is critical for the success of the reaction?
Do I need to adjust the molar ratio oil/glycerol or enzyme concentration when I switch to different oils?
Unfortunately I have to follow a patent and I cannot use different enzymes.
Is there any of you that has some experience with this kind of issue?
If you have some important references could you please share with me?
Thanks a lot for your feedbacks!
