I am looking for advice as what to do with LHC-9 media that contains some kind of precipitate. Gibco is not being very helpful in that matter. My LHC-9 bottles (both sealed and unsealed) contain white flakes, which I assume is protein precipitate. I have plated it out on blood agar, but nothing is growing. Kept whole bottle in 37C, without any changes. BEAS-2B cells seem to grow in it without any issues, nevertheless I am worried what effect it might have on my experiments. Media arrived frozen (dry ice) and I keep it at -20C. It was suggested to me that thawing process/shaking/light exposure might cause that. I have thawed the bottle in 4C fridge without shaking and protected from light with the same effect - white flakes in sealed bottle. Does anyone have similar experience?
