Hello!

I have a doubt regarding the interpretation of graphs from linear discriminant analysis (LDA). In both PCA and LDA, environmental variables are displayed as arrows in the graphs.

In the PCA, the distribution of the samples is positively correlated with the arrows direction. And the opposite direction is also valid (negative correlation).

But it seems to me that, in LDA graph, arrows are showing only which variable was important to explain a cluster, without necessarily having a positive correlation with the direction of the arrow. Is my interpretation correct?

Thank you!
