I am trying to use Mplus and R to run a latent growth curve model analysis. The question is, I would like to show estimated mean patterns of the different groups (such as girls and boys) on the figure. However, I can't set output by the group in the Mplus. The gender will be invariant so that it could not show the result. I wonder know if there is any method can get different group estimated means under the coefficients (parameters) from the total sample framework. Thanks.
I do not understand how the analysis is logical if you set gender as invariant but your Research question is to understand score differences by gender.
Assuming you would want to study gender differences (or to test gender invariance), if you include gender as a covariate predicting your growth parameters, MPLUS would spit out the means for each subgroup

I would like to investigate gender differences in this research. The syntax of my latent growth curve model in the Mplus is somehow like this:
i s | value1@0 value2@1 value3@2
i on gender
s on gender
So that I get intercept, slope, and some related parameters. However, when I use the plot function to see the estimated means, the output can't be set by groups (boys & girls).
I think you may find it more effective to do any plotting out of MPLUS. MPLUS is not exactly useful (or even for aesthetic reasos) for plotting any graphs. I cannot quite remember but I think it is not possible to plot the graphs (do not trust me on this because it has been some time since I did this).
I highly suggest that you take the values and plot it on excel or something.
Hi I just realise this: did you ask MPLUS to plot the graphs? you need a command for MPLUS to produce the plots.
