I want to use ketamine in one of my tests on cell line, is it safe to handle it in lab and can i order it in diffrent carrier medium like gel and cream?
You first need to realize that in many countries, Ketamine is a Controlled Substance and is only available if you have an exemption from the Government. As far as I know it comes only in the as liquid Ketamine HCl (water-based). Pfizer has an MSDS sheet that is available on line and easily found searching ketamine msds (it is considered harmful).
It can be compounded into gel and cream. In theUS ketamine can be prescribed off label. We have just published the first study of its use in a specific syndrome called Fear of Harm in chidren in J Affective Disorders, and have started an FDA approved study in 6-12 year olds.
