We are interested in measuring Arc expression in our animals after fear conditioning. But we are not sure whether injecting ketamine or sodium pentobarbital could alter the expression of these early genes.

We saw in one publication (Shi et al., 2020; Brain Science: PMID: 33383707) that ketamine injection 10 min or 24h before perfusion produces an increase in Arc gene and protein levels in the hippocampus. Please, Could you tell us your opinion?
