Dear colleagues,

I am currently trying to identify species that are fished in the USA, including bycatch data. However, I'm encountering difficulties in locating a comprehensive document that provides scientific names for these species. Currently, I am extracting information from the NOAA Fisheries website [https://www.fisheries.noaa.gov/species-directory?oq=&field_species_categories_vocab=All&field_region_vocab=1000001126&items_per_page=100], but it strikes me as peculiar that I haven't found a document for this purpose. In contrast, countries like Mexico have a centralized source of such information in the "Carta Nacional Pesquera" [https://www.gob.mx/inapesca/acciones-y-programas/carta-nacional-pesquera-51204] and similar resources are available for Peru.

If anyone familiar with U.S. databases could provide guidance on where to find a document listing the scientific names of fished species, I would greatly appreciate it.

Cheers,

Luis
