Welcome in the world of predatory publishing. The ‘paper’ is just taken/stolen and misleadingly suggest a proper paper (abstract). The publisher behind the ‘journal’ “Journal of Molecular Microbiology” is published by a publisher called “iMedPub”.
This is a publisher mentioned in the Beall’s list (https://beallslist.net ). This is a red flag that this might be a predatory publisher. Indeed, there are more red flags, see for example (my replies) here:
The only reason why this happened is because these are fraudsters and by this fraudulent action, they ‘create’ content for their journal.
Since this is not a legit and genuine ‘player’ in the field of scientific publishing I am afraid there is not that much you can do about this. The only ‘positive’ thing is that your fear that there is some clever scam behind it to steal your patent or something is not the case here: it just a blunt and very obvious example of scientific misconduct saying so much about the dubious intentions of this publisher.
Thank you Rob Keller for your answer. There was a recommendation after but it was blocked if you did send any. I am therefore offering recommendations here
First let's look at how researchers had been treated. Each time I watch "Flash of Genius", a real life documentary of how Ford Motors attempted to steal the Intermittent Screen Wiper from the Detroit Professor of Engineering, Robert Kearn, I feel sad. The area I detest most is the narrative that "Robert lost his marriage, mental health, lost the future of all his family as they became 'attorneys' since no attorney was ready to take his case as an influential figure". Robert fought. Then the case of the inventors of Terravission (Billion Dollars Code mini-series) is another. And so many others.
If researchers do not get up to fight this fight, these drops out, who had built empires with money stolen from patent won't stop.
It is painful to see researchers spend themselves, resources, time and be blessed with an invention only for one, who is not endowed like them to steal and the researchers remain bystanders. Parents of some researchers from some continents even have to sell lands and economic trees to sponsor these researchers. Because most of these thieves are influential these researchers have to be subjected to all manners of blackmail, oppression to force them to drop their inventions.
I recommend that Researchers as a community should unite, form a forum or use any available existing one, work together to get rid of these touts.
I want to thank Researchgate for providing forum where researchers discuss their issues. I also extend my gratitude to 'Frontier Loop' who for several times have reactivate my profile after these patent hijackers had tried to block my profile.
If the researchers do fight this fight, they will remain slaves in their own blessings.
