I think that surgery is still the best option in solid tumors. Regarding targeted treatment there are very good drugs for chronic myeloid leukemia with Bcr/Abl component like imatinib or in non hodgkin lymphoma CD20 positive the anti cd20 antibodies are quite efficient. In renal cell carcinoma sunitinib and sorafenib have changed the history. In Hodgkin lymphoma classical chemo and or radiitherapy offer good results.
In other cases like pancreas or metastatic breast cancer chemo has not really made a difference. The same happens with NSCLC or HNSCC. Something different is necessary in these cases.
Radiation therapy uses high-energy radiation to shrink tumors. It causes the cancer cells to stop dividing or die by damaging their DNA. Its side effects are redness on the skin, fatigue that does not get better with rest, and sometimes loss of appetite and nausea.
Chemotherapy is treatment with cancer-killing drugs that may be given intravenously or orally. The drugs travel through the bloodstream to stop or slow the growth of cancer cells in most parts of the body. Because chemotherapy kills both fast-growing cancer cells and healthy cells, side effects can include hair loss, mouth sores and nausea. These typically subside upon completion of chemotherapy.
The surgical procedure for cancer treatment comprises the eradication of the cancerous tumour, along with the tissues and lymph nodes surrounding it which might pose threat in the future. Surgery is often the most sought-after treatment and comes with optimum chances of cure especially in cases where the cancer cells have not travelled elsewhere from the original location.
I heard from people who used food therapy based on green leaves; vegetables juices and water only. From my understanding it worked for some people. For those who believe on God; a very important therapy is based on prayers before dawn and charity.
some people use things they believe in, with good response, but I thing the diagnosis was wrong....
some examples of ancient practice, like eating the Animal cancer, as they thought that the cancer is similar to it. others prescribe the urine of the camel that fed on special type of plants.
