How can I improve the strength and stability of imine bonds (chemical bonds between aldehyde groups and primary amine groups) in the aqueous environment?
P.S. I want to use the structure containing these bonds for cell study, so I can not change the pH to acidic or basic.

,thanks for your answer. Since these bonds are in the hydrogel-based system, I cannot avoid moisture. Do you think that adding a hydrophobe polymer or material inside the matrix could be a solution?!
