are you looking for free or inexpensive pattern design software or are you searching for professional solutions? Please specify.

In the first case you may find numerous small companies or online applications like http://www.soft-blast.com/ or others. A thorough search in the web based on your specifications will answer your question.

In the second case there are several premier (yet expensive) tunneling and mine planning and design software systems like Maptek Vulcan, Geovia Surpac, Deswik CAD, Datamine CAE 5DP, Mintec Minesight, ABB MineScape and others. All the aforementioned include modules for designing blasting patterns in tunnels and mines.

The newest version of Plaxis 2D is a very good option to try.

Are you sure Dr Salahudeen? Can this software present the blasting pattern for underground spaces?

I think we can model the effect of blasting on the tunnel!

Dear Rohollah.

Orica mining system provides softwares for drill and blast designs both above ground (Shotplus) and sub-surface. You may contact Orica to get a lisence or a trial version.

My university also has a software called tunnplan. This software propose a drill/blast pattern based on the rocks drillability, blastabaility, tunnel cross-section design and contour demand. However, this was developed 10-20 years ago. If you drop me an email I can forward you the installation file.
