Is there any detail about designing of high speed railway tunnels?
Dear Rouhollah, there is nothing so special when considering the design of high speed rail tunnels. The plan geometry, cross sections and longitudinal section of the tunnel is largely dictated by high speed alignment constraints, its excavation shape and radius is controlled by the insitu geotechnical conditions, the geological conditions and the excavation technique used, while of course the internal radius is dictated by the rail systems requirements, drainage, safety features and the aerodynamics (a function of maximum speed and the size of a model vehicle). Most of those are considered as input parameters in any modern rail tunnel. So, you need to start with what you want to fit inside the tunnel, the systems requirements to determine the minimum internal radius and then go to geology and geotechnical engineering to estimate the maximum excavation radius. How the latter is done, I would strongly suggest not to follow just the literature but to look for expert advise and guidance if this is your first attempt. As technology, methods, tools and materials advance rapidly, there is no easy or safe way for doing it alone. Tunnel design is a multidiscipline operation and it is better done within a team of trained engineers. Good luck.

I understadant what you say! I exactly want the different guildlines, standards, codes. and etc. It's true that the design of any tunnel is related to geological condition, but at first there is some requirements for determining the tunnel cross section. I want these items and I think that this items are different for every kind of tunnels, specially for high speed railway tunnels. In the next step, a tunnel engineer survey the stability and suggest the supporting system.
Then, I suggest that you start with the country's specifications for the minimum clearance of vehicle as a function of speed, plus the area needed for emergency evacuation path, ventilation and (if applicable) electrification. Then you know more or less your internal radius requirement. All these may differ from country to country, so start with what is applicable national specification to the tunnel under consideration.
