I have FTIR peaks of melanin from my organism and standards. How can I combine all that peaks so that I can represent the comparison in papers. Is there any free software available for this purpose.
For simple summation operations i would suggest a plotting program like gnuplot (http://www.gnuplotting.org/) or qtiplot (http://www.qtiplot.com/) if you want a graphic interface. Both programs can sum up your data and plot them - you could also use grace or plot for mac - there are numerous open source programs for these simple applications.
For advanced spectra analysis I recommend a dedicated FTIR program like OPUS (Bruker) - but of course every spectrometer company offers its own software package
The softwares You mentioned are not free. When I tried to plot on MS Excell and Sigmaplot,It is not giving the exact perfection like the graph generated from the machine
Can you contact Punit (a Phd student at ICT) at [email protected] .During my time in Illinois, for a small work, we used an excel program to compare different peaks. Please ask him with detail. He did the most analysis.
VibSpec: Within VibSpec the program IRIS (Infrared and Raman Interpretation Support) is developed. (After installing the software and registering via email the program can be used 10 days for free):https://www.vibspec.com/html/software_eng.html
