I am using Ni-SDC anodes for high temperature SOFCs operating on CH4. I intend to explore the degradation mechanisms, specially localized Carbon Formation in cermet structures. XPS/XRD and Raman Spectroscopy can detect that Carbon is present, however, I want to know if there is any material characterization or simulation technique, that can pinpoint exact location (in time and space) of carbon formation region in the fuel anode.
