In 2003, the Asian Development Bank conducted a study of Environment Statistics in Central Asia: Progress and Prospects, available at https://www.adb.org/publications/environment-statistics-central-asia-progress-and-prospects, which looked at the statistical systems in Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, Mongolia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan and identified the more important weaknesses and shortcomings. However dated they may be, the findings and conclusions of ADB's study should be of tangential interest and, perhaps, point to data sharing solutions.
