Are CSCL teachers' skills the same as teachers in e-learning situation where students interact just with teachers and there are no student-student interactions?
I would be really grateful if somebody suggests me a book or paper to read about teachers' roles in CSCL.
Dear Pablo Santana Mansilla, In particular Computer Support Collaborative Learning (CSCL) allows candidates to become active and reflective learners rather than mere passive recipients of knowledge transfer. Learners can benefit from the advantages of being independent, identifying their own learning needs as well as managing their own time and pace of learning while at the same time enjoying the challenge of an intellectual journey through collaboration with others via the medium of computers.

You are right, students are not passive recipients of knowledge and teachers should leave the sage on the stage model. In others words, teachers aren't the only source of knowledge because they can learn from their students.
Suppose a teacher has a lot of experience with collaborative learning in classroom and one day he is asked for teaching through CSCL environments. Do they have to learn to use just technology to be successful in CSCL? Could they use the teaching methods proved to be useful in classroom? Do they need special skills?
I used BigBlueButton as coulsultation tool or presenter tool at the university and I have found positive effect on learning habist and testresults by students. You can read more details in my papers, if you need.
Dear Pablo, In collaborative learning environments in general, and in CSCL ones in particular, the teacher ( trainer/ instructor) plays the role of facilitator of learning.. he is no longer the person who transmits knowledge, but he helps his learners to learn together and construct collaboratively new knowledge

Which do you think could be skills that define the facilitator role? Is there any difference between skills of CSCL facilitator and skills of classroom facilitator?
With regard to facilitator' role, generally I think that he/she should have good communication and teamwork management skills. in addition, CSCL tutor must have more skills such as, computer proficiency, and capacities to answer, to help, and to communicate with a lot of his dispersed learners at any moments.
