I'm trying to setup a simulation model for PCM melting with dispersed nanoparticles. From litrature I am using single phase model. My question is should I use the melting temperature of the base PCM or will it also be affected with the addition of nanoparticles. I could not find any mention on the change in melting temperature in the literature.
Any suggestions?
Melting temperature will be same as base PCM, however thermo-physical properties of PCM will change.
The melting point decrease with an increase in nanoparticle percentage. But the changes are not that significant to be considered while doing the mathematical modeling, thus neglected.

The melting temperature changes with the addition of nanoparticles and this change depends on the ratio of the nanoparticles addition. Although this change may be very small you can neglect it on the first stage to check the algorithm. On the advanced stage, you can consider this change to reach more accurate results@ Muhammad Shahid Shafiq
