The floating cells may not be "dead." Try replating them. The cyto-spin device wil lhelp you to mount the detached cells onto a slide.

Thanks Thomas. That Cytospin looks like it would do the trick. And you're right, the floating cells may not be dead. I think Rotenone has an affect on cell attachment but i'm not positive.
