I tried increasing Desk requirement or the amount of memory requested the same error pops up. I tried a lower level of theory first and then used this when the model converged but the same error shows up

Looks like a disk space error to me. Probably, you're out of available disk space while running the calculation. During any Gaussian calculation, a read-write file is generated (.rwf) which can be huge in size depending on the calculation and the size of the molecule.
Search for the respective .rwf file (usually in scratch or tmp directory unless path is specified in the input file) and check its size.
If you've not mentioned the path and filename for the .rwf file within the input file (e.g: %RWF=/user/scratch/filename.rwf), the default rwf filename will bear the gaussian job process ID (PID), something like Gau-55123.rwf .
Here the 55123 is the PID of the job, which you can find at the beginning of the Gaussian .log/.out file. e.g,
Entering Link 1 = ........ PID= 55123
In case your size restriction it is also possible to split the .rwf file in small parts and store each of them in separate places. http://gaussian.com/link0/
