Hello, I want to co-culture two cell lines, for example Hela cell and RPE1 cell. I'd like to induce apoptosis of Hela cell, but not the RPE1 cell. Are there any methods available? Thanks.
Probably you can try to establish a inducible system in your target cells.
Some researchers transduced E. coli purine nucleoside phosphorylase in to the cells. When these cells were exposed to a prodrug they will be killed.

Nano-pulse stimulation (NPS) exhibit non-thermal effects along with selectively targeting cancer cells. NPS treated cells underwent apoptosis but not necrosis. Hope it helps you.
Its really very interesting point that you want to induce apoptosis in Hela cell line but not the RPE1 cell line under co-culture condition. In my opinion, the selective induction of apoptosis in one cell line but not in other under co-culture condition may be carried out by targeting specific cell marker of Hela cell line without affecting RPE1 cell line under co-culture condition.
