As we do not have the ethical animal experiment approval for the standard methods using oxytocin injections, I am looking for an alternative method to collect murine breast milk.

Yes, thank you. Unfortunately, in the methods described, all mice receive oxytocin which we are not allowed to inject.
We used co2 to extract lymphocytes from isolated lymphatic organs in immunology course. Why u don't try to isolate breast glands from slept mice by co2. Then it would be very easy to extract milk from the isolated glands.

Pawel is correct. You should be able to a few microliters by milking without oxytocin. I have done this before.
We have collected milks from the stomachs of the newborn mice to look at lipid and leptin content. We found that to be a simple way of obtaining an nice volume of milk.
