What is the point of the BlueFi that you are mentioning? What are the characteristics and the use cases of such technology? Why you are interested of such combination?
Dear Imad, as both the technologies has its own pros & cons. To spot out some:- Bluetooth has advantages like low cost, low power, where is WiFi has advantages like high bit-rate, high range an bandwidth. I was looking for some combination where one or more cons of either Bluetooth or WiFi can be rectified with some extra circuitry of technical feasibility or innovation, with which both the techs can be combined without losing much/important pros in them.
Dear Vishwas, I did n't knew that there exists 'Blue-fi'. But the paper is a good work. Although energy consumption of the device is reduced to 62 % by using this, I am looking for some advanced technologies or standards, if exists, that could still counter-attack other cons in them and rectify it.
There is always a tradeoff between different goals, for example energy efficiency and high range. Both standards are engineered and optimized for a specific field of application, so I doubt that there is a simple way to combine the benefits.
Your question is hard to answer. Like Imad said, it depends on what you want to do. In the context of WPANs and WLANs, you might check out ultrawideband physical layers for WPANs. Search for IEEE 802.15.3 ("High Rate WPAN") or look at what the IEEE 802.15 group is doing in general. (Bluetooth is 802.15.1 btw)
Hi, You need to be clear first that in which manner you want to know the answer. I mean to say in terms of data rate, coverage area, networking capabilities, maximum no. of nodes that connect in to a network or something else. Before we design any new or hybrid standard, all these points need to be taken care.
