Dear All,

I tried to detect differences in cell viability with methylene blue (v:v; 1:1) on unicellular cyanobacteria (Synechocystis) and after 2-5min in treated cells with blue, no detection of living vs dead cells were possible they looked all the same!). I performed some negative controls by killing all cells (UV and /or EthOH) but all looked the same, no dark cells vs light... Can anyone apply successfully tis method on cyanobacteria ? thank you for yours answers and advices. KC
