I used a Moleculary Imprinting Polymers (MIPs) technique on the Methomyl as a template and we need to create its calibration curve in different solvents. In aqueous media, it gave a sharp UV peak with definite lambda max and sequential absorbance reading for the serial dilution prepared. In contrast, a soluble solution of the methomyl with conc. of 0.01 g/ml in Methanol:acetic acid (5:2) and Acetic acid:Water (1:1) a non-symmetric peak is obtained.

You did not show the picture of the absorbance, so it is not easy to diagnose the issue. Water and methanol have low UV absorbance than acetic acid. So, I guess that acetic acid may affect the shape of the absorbance. Do the check by scanning acetic solution that you use to dissolve the analyte against water.
