I am currently testing the antioxidant activity of a film made up of biological constituents. In the films are different antioxidants dispersed. Instead of testing the film extract in ethanol or water, is there a way to test antioxidant activity in the film as a solid?
you must dissolve film in optimum grade solvent as ethanol or acetone (how may film grams/ ml solvent) then determine the activity to any method (DPPH or Trolox).

I would ideally like to keep the film as close to its solid state as possible during the DPPH/TEAC assay. But this is difficult due to most assays needing a liquid medium to test antioxidant activity.
I have considered freezing the film and grinding it into a powder, then adding a specified amount of that powder directly into the DPPH solution. Any further suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
