I measure plant height from two points of time during growing period and I want to determine the rate of plant height increase per specific time, i. e. per week. I am wondering if there is a formula for calculation? I am not quite sure if it is possible to use the formula: RGR(H)=(H2-H1)/H/(t2-t1) where H is the mean of plant height during the period (t2-t1), which is modified from plant relative growth rate calculation.

You could use the formula RGR(H)=(H2-H1)/(t2-t1) for a specific time. The problem is that you can not generalize this calculated rate because the rate changes more or less as time passes. The attached link may be useful to you.

Thanks for your suggestion, Dr. Matsoukis. The rate from t1-t2 is the average increase rate of plant height during the period. I am not sure if the increase rate of plant height also depends on the existing height. The increase rate may be higher when the plant is small and lower when the height increase.
You are right. The phenological stage of the plant plays an important role on the increase rate of plant height. For example, the rate of height increase slowed down during the flowering period of the plants, as can be seen in the attached file (specifically, in Fig. 1a, the period between 123 and 162 days, where the rate of increase of height of Narcissus cv. Ice Follies plants was retarded, coincided with their flowering period).

Certainly we can calculate height growth rate similar to crop growth rate. But as such references in this area is very scarce. You can propose in your paper.
