Is the erode option in MAT_159 of LS-DYNA material library used only for element deletion? Does it affect the other values like stress, displacement?

To add more to the above question, if we compare two models where the erode value is given as 1.05 and other as 0.95. Then, should the two models give different stress values, different displacement values for the same element or node respectively.
