I have an idependent variable  which is on a scale from1-13 . It can be treated as a continuous or categorical since every rank upwards means more precarity (it's a combination of income and job security, so 1 means high income and no job insecurity).

I have another independent variable 'status inconsistency', which is a ranged from -4 tot 2. where 1 to 2 is inconsistency and -2 to -4 is being over rewarded. Inbetween that is normal.

As dependent variable I have for example voting choice, which is 1-5 where 1 is extreme left and 5 is extreme right.

So I am thinking for this, ordinal regression is best, right?

Also I think I cant use status inconsistency and precarity at the same time within the independent variable box, because they overlap. Like for example income is used in both.
