Hello all!

I am currently a PhD candidate in the middle of the data collection phase of my dissertation research. I have begun to look ahead to data analysis. To provide some background information on my research, my qualitative study will interview 14 individuals. The interview results will be manually transcribed to paper. My dissertation committee has recommended that I perform manual coding of the completed transcripts. Therefore, I have no interest in using software to code automatically from audio/video files or to code automatically from written transcripts. I primarily want to use software for documenting my line-by-line coding and having a wide range of search features to navigate my findings.

I am a novice researcher so I have little experience with qualitative data software. I noticed that MAXQDA standard edition is $47 following a 30-day free trial. Do you all know if MAXQDA would be a good choice considering the product/services that I am searching for?

Thank you!
