• One of often-cited paper by A. Sakharov described how Einstein's equations may be re-derived from vacuum fluctuations (see http://ufn.ru/ufn91/ufn91_5/Russian/r915i.pdf). One example here is H. Puthoff who proposes vacuum polarization model of gravitation.

Despite the fact that this paper has been cited by many physicsts, it is also debatable whether that is what Sakharov himself wants to say.
