My model consists of a fluid flow (hot) passing through a packed bed (cold) of certain porosity exchanging the heat. The fluid flow is having both temperature as well as flow conditions. How to incorporate this?
It is obviously possible. If you're using a COMSOL version 4 or 5, in the model builder frame, in the field of the component, right-click on definitions and then select variable.
A new field appear and then you can define any function, which may incorporate your dependent variable. Note then you can also select if these function apply on the whole model, or on a subdomain or even on a boundary. You can define any kind of function field you want.
Good morning, yes, if you can add or include undefined variables, parameters also. They can be recognized globally. With a right click on the window model builder in the global section definitions, or in the menu bar at Home. Best regards.
I do not think that any arbitrary dependent can Introduce in modelling. To find dependent variable in modeling is very important step and it is purpose to find dependent variable with help of Initial and boundary conditions.
