@ Rk, I think you may go for green manure crop under zero till system but incorporation to the soil would not be possible without tillage. The permissible soil loss limit for India is 11.2 t/ha/year.
The enclosed show the organic one pass no till planting system. The hairy vetch cover crop is killed by mechanical rolling and the maize is planted in a no till planter.
Cover crops can be established either with no till using no till drill planter or by using conventional tillage.
This system was developed at the Rodale Institute in Pennsylvania.
Any green manure can be swon with zero till machine alone or as an intercrop with rice depending on the water availability during peak summer. If greem legumes is intercropped with rice is saves irrigation water. Green manure crop of 35-40 days oldcan be killed by herbicides such as 2-4- D without any adverse effect on the rice crop. But do not use broad spectrum herbicides they may kill young seedlings also. Sesbania intercropping helps control weeds, creates surface mulch and fix atmospheric nitrogen. Permissible soil erosion is the amount of soil loss which a soil can withstand without degrading its long-term productivity. Generally, 11.2 Mg ha yr is considered as permissible erosion limit based on the assumption that this rate of erosion equals soil formation.Permissible soil erosion is the amount of soil loss which a soil can withstand without degrading its long-term productivity.
