Papaya Ring Spot Virus is a serious problem in papaya. Except few varieties most of the varieties are very much suceptible to this virus. Physical, chemical and biological methods are available for controlling this virus. But these methods are not working effectively. Some of the mineral nutrition like boron and other elements are able to control this virus. Is it possbile to control these virus using mineral nutrition?

Here in Venezuela has not been used. Only by use of white oil and have tried using cross protection without major success
In ours experience working on papaya plantation in Cuba and Mexico, while viral symptoms can be masked, the virus replication was no stopped with use of any mineral nutrition. However some antiviral treatments in comercial plantations can avoid the dispersion of virus from infected to healthy plant. The eradication of potyvirus It has not been possible at least without using the therapies and in vitro culture.
The various options for management of PRSV have been aimed at vector control, cross protection, transgenic papaya plants, planting virus-free areas. There is little evidence to support the success of improving eg soil fertility and plant nutrition to reduce the effects of the pathogen on the host.
Temperature has definite relation with the expression of virus infestation. Check your growing conditions and try to find solution accordingly.
