Hi everyone,

As stated in the title: is it possible for a slender beam not to buckle if the axial load reaches the buckling limit? (Suppose we have a beam of perfect geometry and a perfectly axial loading exerted at the beam end)

If the answer was 'impossible', then how does the high-mode buckling happen?

Thanks in advance,

Ke
