Maybe I'm a curmudgeon, BUT, A) the world will never reach a realistic definition of "net zero". That's just NOT the way thermodynamics works! B) Interference in "free markets" NEVER results in net benefits to society.
You will be better off preparing for anticipated "climate" changes (or not) than trying to change the climate (which we can't). That said, it ALWAYS makes economic sense as well as environmental benefit to reduce usage, operate sustainably, and reduce waste as much as possible in all activities.
