Hello, to start off I attempting to test the bacteriostatic properties of certain compounds. I bought a kit that contains some of the equipment to perform this analysis, however, in the included procedure it suggested using Tris buffer with the antibiotic and test discs. Since the kit is meant for extracting potential antibiotics from plant components, I believe the tris is to help maintain a proper pH from these components. The worst part is the pH isn't labeled either. My question is if using Tris would be proper for already isolated compounds or if it would affect the results?
